How we work
Advice for Renters is a small, but mighty organisation
We work hard to make renting a home work better for you
What we stand for
Our vision: Housing and health equality, whether you rent or own your home.
We’re a small, growing organisation with a series of values which underpin how we work together and with our clients & partners.
We ensure everyone feels valued
We deliver 100% effort and quality
We constantly learn, reflect and develop
As a team we operate with high levels of autonomy and trust. We ensure we gain a deep understanding of all perspectives of a given issue, a movement away from traditional hierarchy and it’s inefficiencies, and a decision-making process that takes account of the skills and experiences of people, and the consequences for everyone.
What we do
We are tackling housing inequality by providing a range of direct support services to vulnerable tenants, as well as campaigning for policy change and the rights of the people and communities we represent.
Our activities include:
Providing legal and financial support and advice to vulnerable tenants facing eviction
Lobbying government and policy makers for policy change
Over the last 30 years we have supported thousands of tenants in acute housing need, and our influence is seen in housing policy changes since the early 90’s.
Underpinning everything we do is a desire to contribute to growing action against the climate emergency, and ensuring racial equality is embedded throughout our work.
